FAISALABAD. Pakistan Post will be digitalized to provide new and innovative services in addition to improving the quality of existing facilities, said Malik Naseer Ahmad Senior Post Master Pakistan Post.
During a meeting with Atif Munir Sheikh, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) in his office, he said that parcel service has been improved while 75% concession would be offered to the bulk suppliers of parcels. He said that Pakistan Post is already providing facility of “same day delivery” through General Post Office (GPO) and its post offices in Madina Town, People’s Colony, Ghulam Muhammad Abad and Nishat Abad. “We are also launching a new mobile app to further facilitate our clients”, he said and added that three new sub post offices are also being established in Makoana, Kharrianwala and Chak Jhumra. He said that a counter of GPO will also be established in M3 industrial estate to provide postal services to the industrial sector.
Mr. Atif Munir Sheikh said that Pakistan Post is the oldest institution in Pakistan which has its presence throughout the width and breadth of this country. He said that people in general and the business community in particular use this national organization for the safe and speedy delivery of their parcels etc. He suggested that Pakistan post has improved their services considerably through switching over to digital mode and hence it should launch a vigorous campaign for its publicity. “People must be educated so that they could divert their parcels and posts from private to this public sector entity”, he said and requested the PostMaster General to provide a comprehensive list of their services along with its tariff.
He said that FCCI will circulate it among its 8000 members for their convenience and awareness.
Rana Fayyaz Ahmad Vice President FCCI said that Faisalabad has grown from a village into a bursting metropolis and hence Pakistan Post should establish their post offices to cover the emerging localities and grey areas.
Omar Draz Marketing Officer Urban Area, Sheikh Tanveer Sultan Marketing Officer Postal Division and Rana Shamsul Haq Assistant Manager Express Post were also present during this meeting.–
