FAISALABAD. Trust deficit forced business community of Faisalabad to give their donations direct to the NGOs instead of dolling it out to the government owned or sponsored charity organizations, said Sheikh Farooq Yousaf Acting President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).
During a meeting with Executive Director of the Pakistan Center for Philanthropy (PCP) Ms. Shazia Maqsood Amjad said that FCCI always contributed generously during national calamities and its members are also running free hospital and dispensaries in addition to offering educational scholarships to the needy students.
He particularly mentioned earthquake of 2005 and super flood of 2010 and told that FCCI members promptly reacted and contributed more than any other city of the country.
He said that government should identify the reasons for the trust deficiency as they prefer to donate their charity direct to the private sector organizations.
Ms. Shazia Maqsood Amjad Executive Director PCP told that it is a government sponsored organization which has been mandated to issue certificates to the NGOs applying for tax exemption.
She said that PCP also collects donations which are distributed for the welfare projects through organizations hooked up with it.

She said that business community of Faisalabad is known for its generosity and excellent charity work is being carried out in this city but very few people know about their good deeds and gestures.
She said that regular interaction between FCCI and PCP is imperative to acknowledge their contribution in addition to sensitizing businessmen of other cities to follow their pursuits.
