FAISALABAD. Divisional Administration of Lahore will extend full support to make “Made in Faisalabad Expo” a total success, said Divisional Commissioner Lahore Mr. Sumair Ahmad Syaed.
During a meeting with Mr. Shabbir Hussain Chawla President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), commissioner said that Faisalabad is the third major industrial hub of Pakistan, which is also second in revenue generation. He appreciated the entrepreneurship of business community of Faisalabad and said that they have played an important role in stabilizing the national economy.
Commissioner was particularly impressed by the huge potential of SME sector of Faisalabad and said that it could enhance national exports manifold, provided its marketing related issues were resolved. He also welcomed the organization of “Made in Faisalabad Expo” in Lahore and said that it will provide an opportunity to the Made in Faisalabad products to attract Lahorites and people from other parts of the province and country through this exhibition. He assured that he will try his best to personally visit this expo while he has already directed concerned departments to cooperate with the organizers of this event. He also assured to recommend FCCI request addressed to Chief Minister Punjab Shabaz Sharif to formally inaugurate this mega event of national importance.
Mr. Shabbir Hussain Chawla told that Faisalabad alone is contributing 55% share in total textile export of Pakistan in addition to catering to the 70% domestic needs of the country. Although textile is the main strength of this city, yet soap, chemical, energy, agriculture, beverages and other sectors have also made tremendous progress during last few decades. He said that National Textile University and University of Agriculture are the pride of nation as these alma maters are providing highly skilled manpower, which is also working in industrial sector of other cities. He underlined the need to introduce the huge potential of this city at the international level so that its production capabilities could be fully exploited. President FCCI told that he has carved out a comprehensive strategy to introduce and project the industrial potential of this city within the country as well as at international level and “Made in Faisalabad Expo” is a step towards this direction.
He told that first “Made in Faisalabad Expo” will be organized in Lahore on March 24-25, 2018. Similar exhibitions would also be arranged in other cities and countries to introduce and promote diverse range of quality products manufactured in Faisalabad.
Former President FCCI Engineer Sohail Bin Rasheed formally invited divisional commissioner Lahore Mr. Sumair Ahmad Syaed to attend “Made in Faisalabad Expo” and told that FCCI had already requested Chief Minister Punjab Shabaz Sharif to inaugurate this exhibition. He also requested him to follow up this application, so that C.M could spare some time from his pressing engagements to inaugurate this event. He further told that more than 10.000 buyers, exhibitors and industrialists are expected to attend this event.
