FAISALABAD. An advance party from Saudi Arabia is arriving here in Faisalabad during January 2020 to complete the spade work for a full fledge visit of trade delegation from Saudi Arabia, said Rana Sikandar-e-Azam Khan, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).
He was addressing a reception hosted in his honor on his return back from Saudi Arabia. Rana Sikandar-e-Azam had headed a 36-member delegation of FCCI who performed Umrah and other religious rituals in addition to having productive meetings with the leading businessmen belonging to Makah and Medina Chambers of Commerce & Industries.
He told that Faisalabad has been named after the late King of Saudi Arabia Shah Faisal. “Every inhabitant of this city has special religio-political affinity with Saudi Arabia”, he said and added that due to this reason we want trade and not aid with our Muslim brothers. He further said that Saudi Arabia is importing huge lots of garments and cooked food from various countries. He suggested that the Saudi Arabian businessmen should divert their purchase orders towards Faisalabad in a bid to further strengthen our bilateral trade relations.
Rana Sikandar-e-Azam disclosed about his telephonic talks with Sheikh Abdul Rehman Al-Sudais, Head of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia who have assured to personally visit Faisalabad, whenever he came to Pakistan. He also assured that the Imam e Kabba and Imam of Grand Mosque of Prophet (PBUH) would also be requested to visit FCCI as a gesture of goodwill in near future. He also offered to host ten to fifteen FCCI members during Hajj or Umrah at the expense of Hajj and Umrah Ministry.
Quoting his meeting with Mr. Marwan Shaaban Vice President Makah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, he disclosed that earlier no Pakistani had ever requested for business relations and hence Saudi investors could not invest in Pakistan. Appreciating the efforts of President of the FCCI to convince Saudi investors to visit Faisalabad, Mr. Marwan Shaban told that he will visit FCCI and explore business opportunities in M-3 Industrial City and proposed Allama Iqbal Special Economic Zone. He said that certainly Saudi investors will prefer to invest in Faisalabad which is a hub of textile. He said being a Muslim country, Saudi investor will also like to establish their cooked food projects in Pakistan.
Rana Sikandar-e-Azam President FCCI along with his team also attended various functions in addition to offering “Salah” behind Imam-e-Masjid-e-Nabvi as his special guests. They also visited the new factory installed to prepare covering of Khana-e-Kaaba.
The business leaders of various trade bodies accorded a warm reception to Rana Sikandar-e-Azam on his return back from Saudi and congratulated him for his successful and productive negotiations with the Saudi investors.
President FCCI specially appreciated the efforts of Hafiz Shafiq Kashif chairman FCCI standing committee on Hajj and Umrah to make this tour a total success. During the meeting Haji Aslam Bhalli, Habib-ur-Rehman Gill, Rana Ikram Ullah, and Mian Abdul Waheed also addressed the meeting while Hafiz Shafiq Kahsif offered thank giving prayers prayer.
